Well, today marks my 33rd week (if you want to get technical, my docs are off by a week) So far – my pregnancy has gone alright, other than some minor hiccups.. We also finally have a name for our little girl! We chose 3 names and had Jeff choose… Katelyn Marie (Spelling is tentative right now) was his selection…
Sorry I’ve been MIA. I haven’t had too much oomph to post anything….
I have successfully surpassed my previous track record for being pregnant. My son was born in the wee early morning hours of the 1st day of my 27th week. My daughter – thankfully is going strong and no problems as of late. I’m having more issues with the gestational diabetes. It’s not all that often that I crave chocolate cake or chocolate chip cookies – but man! Let me tell ya, not so fun when you have a craving you can’t cure. It rather pisses me off. But then again, I don’t want a 20 lbs baby
and list us in the Guiness Book of World Records or anything. It makes it especially hard when we have two different types of diets going on in the house – of which my husband’s mainly consists of carbs, while all my crap is high in protein. I’ve seen so many vegetables in the last 2 weeks to make my head spin. Anyway… Enough about me and my woes.
How your baby’s growing:
This week, your baby weighs almost 2 pounds (like a head of cauliflower) and is about 14 1/2 inches long with her legs extended. She’s sleeping and waking at regular intervals, opening and closing her eyes, and perhaps even sucking her fingers. With more brain tissue developing, your baby’s brain is very active now. While her lungs are still immature, they would be capable of functioning — with a lot of medical help — if she were to be born now. Chalk up any tiny rhythmic movements you may be feeling to a case of baby hiccups, which may be common from now on. Each episode usually lasts only a few moments, and they don’t bother her, so just relax and enjoy the tickle.
Today I had my visit at my OB’s office. Met a new doctor, who was super nice. They overlooked an anatomy u/s because of my frequent visits, so they gifted me 2 movie passes for the inconvenience for going back again this upcoming Friday. I took Jeff with me and he only freaked out for a few minutes. When he saw them poking at me, he was all happy again (the little snot!).
I have my glucose test at the end of the month and I’m not looking forward to drinking even one ounce of that stuff
Anywho, I haven’t been in the blogging spirit. I haven’t had much oomph with my photography to even inspire any blog posts. It saddens me really. When this little girl comes, I’m sure will be an inspiration. Til then…
We got 7 more pics of this baby girl, who currently weighs in at a whopping 1 pound, 3 ounces! Wowzas!
Yesterday was my 20 week check up. The progesterone shots that I’m required to take weekly is doing its job and there is no concern that they’ll need to “sew” me shut anytime soon (or the dreaded bed rest). Although the surge of hormones sure makes me sick to my stomach 😦
Along with this new milestone, the hubs and I have decided that we plan to pick 3 favorite names, placing them in unmarked envelopes, and having Jeffrey pick an envelope when our baby girl is born. What better way to include him than to let him have a “say” in her name. I l♥ve the idea…
Here’s her profile pic (the sonographer gave me 8 pics!):
